My journey has taken me from academic research both in Europe and the US to small and dynamic startups in Silicon Valley, from coordinating European research projects to scaling a company from the ground up to over $40M revenue.
The common theme has always been to educate and grow people in an environment where innovation is key.
What drives me is the opportunity to help others navigate challenges, whether that’s through strategic advice, hands-on problem solving, or simply making difficult concepts accessible. I believe the best solutions come from a mix of rigorous thinking, empathy, and a willingness to experiment.

This core textbook continues to provide a hands-on instructional approach to many data science techniques, and explains how these are used to solve real world problems. The work balances the practical aspects of applying and using data science techniques with the theoretical and algorithmic underpinnings from mathematics and statistics.

Modern knowledge discovery methods enable users to discover complex patterns of various types in large information repositories. The focus of this book, and the BISON project from which the contributions are originating, is a network based integration of various types of data repositories and the development of new ways to analyse and explore the resulting gigantic information networks.
